Alas young Abandoned, we knew him well. you have a gift fine sir, thank you for sharing your talents.
All I thought of was, good thing you got out of the org, otherwise you truly would of been a victim of that Dead Poets Society aka WBTS.
Sounds like your better today

Heard at a JW family get-together...
by Justice-One inmy wife and i (and of course not our two sons because they are df'ed) got invited over to my mother and father-in-laws place for dinner last night.
at first, i wasn't going to go, and then i thought....well this might be fun.
btw, i knew that pretty much all of the family was going to be there, including two elders...my father in law, and my brother in law...both brain dead "true believers.

Sorry, I need to vent for a moment...
by Abandoned innormally, i don't mind where i'm at in my life.
i'm forty, no kids, low-paying job, live in a trailer court, etc (and trust me there's more to the etc, then i've already mentioned), but today i had a hard time.. one of my best friends from high school was a big dope head (no offense to the dope heads out there).
he showed up nearly every day to our first period art class smelling of weed and was generally so whacked out of his mind that he got horrible grades.. he finally graduated - barely - and made it to college.

Hey Abandoned!
I was reading your comments and all that came to mind was how different we see ourselves than others do. I've read the responses/reactions from the board and I am going to echo their sentiments. you sound like a great guy, very witty and communicate your feelings like a poet. in a short time, you have made many friends here and that just isn't because we feel your pain (ex-jw crap) but find your posts insightful, thoughtful and your words paint a visual all of us can understand. these are qualities of a quality individual, you are already one of my favorite posters here so my heart aches to hear of your tough times.
I don't want to turn this into cliche time but something that was shared with me sometime ago I have never forgot and that is, the fastest way to make your dreams come true is to wake up. you have our support, internet shoulders to lean on and whatever else we can offer while you handle, adjust and overcome. this too shall pass..
If nothing else, remember how your thought of here and even more than the full figured women, Gordon has a crush, HA!
You are a very attractive fellow... (I mean that in the most manly way)
You seem to be in pretty good shape, physically.

Are YOU Basically The Same Person Now As When You Were A Witness?
by minimus inthey say "the truth" changes people from nasty, wicked people to meek, honest hearted "ones".
now that you're out of "the truth", are you back to your old ways??
did "the truth" ever really change you??

Same person as before, I had a brief period after I left where I went alittle crazy and wild but that wasn't me inside. I tested the waters because I finally could but eventually came back to being the John I resemble in my mirrors.
We are who we are, people get help, change bad habits, lose weight, etc.. but inside we always come back to the real us.. I tell young people in relationships to start them out being yourself and not what you think the other person expects you to be, you'll have a greater chance of success if they meet the real you right from the beginning. as JW's, we were never able to individuals.

Dam those accurate tests!!
For all the JW lurkers with bad intentions, no need to take the test, THE BORG isn't one of the characters on the test and one of the questions is, have you taken the hippocratic oath, not the hypocritic which you have.
Great post Alleymom
You are Geordi LaForge
Geordi LaForge 70% Beverly Crusher 65% An Expendable Character (Redshirt) 60% Spock 59% James T. Kirk (Captain) 55% Will Riker 50% Deanna Troi 50% Chekov 45% Mr. Sulu 45% Data 41% Uhura 40% Jean-Luc Picard 40% Worf 40% Mr. Scott 35% Leonard McCoy (Bones) 25% You work well with others and often
fix problems quickly. Your romantic
relationships are often bungled. -

Do you really wish you could have faded?
by megsmomma ini didn't really even concider(or know about) doing this at the time i da'd....i just kind of jumped off the deep end and didn't look back.
i don't know if that was a very healthy thing for me to do, because i was not sure why i did it and i was quite lost in the world.
it took me 7 years to realize i did the right thing and that jw's are nothing but a dangerous cult.. sometimes i wish i had faded out, so as to not miss my mom.....however it seems that going through all that may be harder that just jumping.

I am so sorry to here this. I will never understand this stance. I have two Grandsons and couldn't fathom not being part of their lives regardless of the paths they choose that differ from mine. Megan is welcome to have me as her honorary Grandpa John. Hayden and Jonathan won't mind.
I've read your posts, Megan has a GRAND mother in you already! never say never right, maybe/hopefully one day things will change..
Take care
